Biography: Mr. McVey is a St. Louis-area native, having grown up in South St. Louis County. He graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1987. He received a BA in English from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 1992. After exploring various career options, he returned to school, and received his MA in Education from Maryville University in 1998 and began his teaching career. He initially taught English, but, through being involved in athletics, has gravitated to teaching Health & Wellness. He started in SLPS in 2009-2010 at McKinley High School, and has been at Gateway STEM since. He is a father of 3 adult children, and currently lives with his wife in Labadie, MO.
